On August 16 and 17, Belwin Conservancy will host our sixth annual Music in the Trees. This two-day outdoor musical event features a diverse array of musicians performing from perches high up in a stand of red pines at Belwin’s Education Site.
Throughout the event, a variety of musicians will take turns performing from two separate stands. Audiences are welcome to set up a chair and listen at one stand in particular, or move between the trees to hear as much music as possible. Each day will end with an accessible performance from Celtic Arts Junction on the ground level. Check out the 2025 roster of performers below.

Northern Shores (Danny Diamond & Brian Miller) is a Minnesota-based duo known for their soulful performances of Irish traditional music, ranging from tender waltzes to lively reels. Miller draws on two decades of research into Irish-influenced logging-era music from the Great Lakes region, while Diamond’s expressive fiddle playing reflects a rich musical heritage from northern Ireland. Miller will also share the Eoin McKiernan Library’s exhibit Into the Woods: Irish Music & Dance in Minnesota’s Logging Era.

Ina-Yukka is a mother-and-son duo that performs traditional folk music from South America and the “New Chilean Song” movement. Ina means mother in Dakota and other languages, and Yukka means son in Aymara. Vladimir and Nia have been singing together for the last 10 years in the Twin Cities, bringing together the sounds of folkloric harmonies, traditional flutes, indigenous percussion, and activist lyrics.
