Nature journaling is the process of slowing down, engaging your senses, and observing the natural world. This class is for adults interested in looking closer at nature and recording observations using words, numbers, and drawings. Gather as a group at Belwin's Savanna Center, then walk through Belwin's oak savanna to practice nature journaling. Bring a journal and writing utensils (e.g., pens, pencils, paints) to record your observations and dress appropriately to be outside.

This course is led by Emily Hayne. Emily has a background in environmental education teaching pre-K to high school students in forests, prairies, and wetlands throughout the Midwest. During graduate school Emily studied the relationship between people, nature, and place and the well-being outcomes of nature journaling. Emily enjoys creating meaningful experiences outdoors that inspire curiosity and connect people to nature.

Presented in partnership with Saint Paul Public Schools Community Education.
