July 20 – 23 • 9 PM – 12 PM
Let's go outside! It can be easy to forget, but nature is always happening around us. In this class, we'll learn some tips and tricks for exploring nature in your own neighborhood. Each class, we'll spend some time outside talking about topics that include plant/animal identification, urban wildlife adaptations, wayfinding, citizen science, and more! We'll also provide tools for exploring, which will include items such as binoculars, magnifying glasses, animal guides, field journals, and compasses. By the end of the class, you'll be prepared to start exploring on your own!
This course is led by Max Borge.
Max has spent the last 10+ years working in animal husbandry and environmental education in various regions around the country. Throughout these roles, Max's main goal has always been to encourage curiosity and empathy for our shared environment. While hailing originally from Northern California, Max has fully enjoyed spending the last four years engaging with Minnesota's community and natural resources.
This event is hosted in partnership with Stillwater Area Public Schools Community Education.
