Belwin volunteers contribute in a positive and meaningful way to our mission of inspiring connection and engagement with the natural world. Volunteers support staff in connecting people and the land through land management and stewardship, public events, administrative tasks, and special projects. There are opportunities for all levels of experience at Belwin, and the variety of projects available means volunteers can continually grow and learn from staff, peers, and the land.

Volunteer Category
Administration Support
Administration Volunteers support Belwin’s mission through helping staff from time to time with general organizational needs. These might include basic data entry, web site reviews, donor outreach, and assembling printed materials. Much of the work by Administration Volunteers is done on computer, either from home or at Belwin’s main office.
Event Support
Public Event Volunteers help staff with welcoming and supporting individuals at a variety of programs throughout the year. This position can include greeting visitors at information tables and entrances, assisting with parking and set-up, stocking or distributing refreshments, working at merchandise tables, and directing visitors to event locations.
Events at Belwin include Midwinter Family Fun, Belwin Bison Festival, Music in the Trees, Night in Nature, and the Winter Solstice Bonfire. In addition, Belwin holds guided hikes, and other smaller public programs throughout the year.
Land Management
Land Management Volunteers help support Belwin Conservancy staff efforts to restore healthy, vibrant habitats. Land Management Volunteers may participate in a variety of outdoor restoration activities such as removal of non-native plants, seed collection, fencing removal and installation, planting, trail maintenance, and other land related specific activities.
Land work with volunteers occurs during work hours Monday through Friday and is overseen by Belwin Staff. Much of the land work occurs on Wednesdays with our “Work-A-Day Wednesday” crew. Other projects may take place on other days and will always be during work hours. No land management projects happen over the weekends.
Belwin Conservancy celebrates diversity. We strive toward an inclusive and equitable culture and environment for our staff, volunteers and visitors. We partner with those who share these values with the knowledge that our lives are richer and our impact is greater because of those values and partnerships. We do not and will not tolerate harassment or racial profiling at Belwin Conservancy.
